Our Lighting Design Process in 6 Key Points

Lighting Project Management is always the right option to streamline processes, avoid unnecessary costs and reduce time. Our team of lighting professionals provides a comprehensive Lighting Project Management service, starting from the initial feasibility studies, to design, tender support, procurement, construction supervision and final testing and commissioning.

Initial Meeting

During our first meeting, its an opportunity to go through your project, initial thoughts on lighting and to get an overview of the kind of property or scope of work you would like us to be involved in. Its an informal chat but a chance to get to know what we can offer and our design approach.

Following the discussions we should have relatively concise brief to work from. We will then provide you with a written quotation for our services & products. Should you decide to appoint us or request further meetings we are more than happy to answer any queries you may have.

Design Development

Based on feedback, we work with the lighting design consultants team to develop the conceptual design into a preliminary design package with drawings, detail illustrations, luminaire specifications, load summaries, budgets and other technical information to ensure that any regulation and technical requirements are met. Notes and sketch details are developed for any custom and built-in lighting elements. The client and design team are presented with a preliminary design package for tender, review and comment.

Construction Documentation

Once the design is approved its detailed into a full construction package so the scheme can be built /implemented. Package includes detailed drawings, control strategy , technical luminaire specifications for contractors. Final Reviews of bespoke luminaires designs are undertaken including sign off for any mock-ups. The package is issued for implementation to construction team.

Order & Delivery

Once its agreed the lighting is ordered and we prepare the products circuit by circuit boxed per room, for ease of installation on site, saves the electrician time. We would request a meeting on site with the electrician to handover the products for installation.

Installation

We appreciate that site changes might result in last minute revisions to our design.

Continuous support for the contractor throughout the installation phase of our design is available. We will visit site to monitor key stages of the implementation. We can recommend qualified electricians who are familiar with our products.

We conduct a first-fix check to ensure the lighting design is implemented as we designed and any amendments are approved.

06.

Commissioning

To ensure the design is realised as we intended, final site visits are intended for adjustments to luminaires, programming of any lighting scenes stored in the lighting control system.

We also offer a service for up to 3 months to reprogram new scenes make adjustments as we believe you might change the way you use your space.
